Role Details
A challenging career opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to join the team of an established Service Centre near Dartford, Essex.
As Workshop Controller, you will be familiar with managing a productive workshop team, whilst recognising the importance of delivering high standards of customer service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily control of the workshop in order to maintain a high level of productivity and quality repair.
Requirements
- Experience of working as a Workshop Controller in a similar environment is essential
- Maintaining good working relationships, communication with the Service Advisors and internal departments will be at the forefront of your actions
- Mentoring and supporting the team, Increasing and maintaining workshop productivity and efficiency, with the aim of achieving a “First Time Fix”
- Efficient management of the Service Workshop and Service Advisors
- Offering technical advice and support, test driving vehicles, Quality Control
- Updating internal departments and customers, with timescales and developments
- Organising the workload and distributing work to ensure optimum efficiency and productivity
- Identify potential bottlenecks early through regular updates, to avoid escalation
- Keeping abreast of product launches and technical advances
- Adhering to Health & Safety practices and ensuring the team comply too
- Enhancing the knowledge and skills of each team member by participation in training courses
About the person
- You must have knowledge of managing a workshop team as Workshop Controller and experience of managing and mentoring in excess of 10 technicians
- A leader, who prioritises customer satisfaction while simultaneously motivating and uniting their team by building strong, trust-based relationships
- Guiding the team, offering solutions to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Able to follow and enforce manufacturer and company guidelines and health and safety

- A Full, UK Driving Licence is essential, for Insurance purposes
