Overview
An opportunity has arisen with a leading UK infrastructure services provider for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the maintenance and performance of a diverse vehicle and plant fleet within a high-demand, safety-critical environment. This is a pivotal leadership appointment, offering the opportunity to oversee a complex, mixed fleet while driving performance, safety, and operational excellence.

The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of workshop strategy and day-to-day operations, ensuring optimal fleet availability and compliance within a fast-paced environment. You will lead and develop a skilled engineering team, while partnering closely with key operational stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge and the ability to develop high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a multi-skilled workshop team
Oversee maintenance and repair of a mixed fleet (LCV, HGV, plant)
Drive fleet availability through effective planning and resource management
Ensure full compliance with HSE and regulatory standards
Manage stakeholder relationships across operational teams
Monitor performance, costs, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement

About You
Established experience leading a vehicle-focused workshop operation
Strong leadership and team development capability
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Technically qualified (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
Broad mechanical knowledge (diesel, EV, hydraulics desirable)
Commercially aware, with a focus on performance and continuous improvement

Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence
Eligibility for UK security clearance
