They are now seeking a Dealership Accountant / Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in steering the financial and operational success of their business.
The Opportunity
This is a senior, hands-on position responsible for leading the accounting and administration function within a successful motor group. As a key member of the management team, you will provide accurate and timely financial insight to support strategic decision-making.
You will act as a financial business partner to the leadership team, guiding performance, ensuring compliance, and driving the effective management of working capital, budgeting, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts across all departments in accordance with group policies and deadlines
- Monitor performance against budget, analysing variances and delivering actionable insight at monthly board meetings
- Manage cash flow to align with banking facilities and manufacturer programmes, ensuring adherence to financial limits
- Oversee dealership assets including debtor control, stock management and funding facilities
- Deliver weekly forecasts and annual budgets in collaboration with the Head of Business and senior management
- Prepare annual consolidated accounts and support the external audit process
- Maintain rigorous balance sheet control and ensure appropriate accruals, prepayments and provisions are in place
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory requirements including PAYE, Social Security and GST/VAT
- Manage payroll, bonus and commission calculations, ensuring fairness and accuracy
- Optimise use of the Keyloop Autoline Dealer Management System, including Sales, Purchase Ledgers, VSB and database modules
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a commercially astute and technically proficient individual with a background in the automotive industry and dealership accounting.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Keyloop Autoline (DMS) and the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of KPIs relevant to Sales, Service and Parts
- Sound understanding of the automotive sector, its unique risks and financial levers
- High attention to detail, with excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, managing deadlines and multiple priorities with confidence
