Workshop Manager – Vehicle & Plant Operations
Location: Heathrow Area, West London

A Specialist Fleet Operation is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take ownership of workshop performance, fleet reliability and technician development across a diverse vehicle and plant fleet.
This role requires a strong Automotive professional who combines leadership capability with sound technical judgement.
The successful candidate will be naturally inquisitive, detail-focused and capable of identifying root causes, improving processes and maintaining high engineering standards.
The Role
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of automotive technicians and engineers
- Oversee maintenance, servicing and repair activities across vehicle and plant assets
- Maximise fleet availability through effective workshop control and resource planning
- Drive productivity, quality and operational performance
- Support complex diagnostic and technical investigations
- Monitor workshop performance, costs and key operational metrics
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong working relationships with operational partners
Requirements
- Previous Workshop Manager, Fleet Manager or Senior Workshop Leadership experience
- Strong Automotive Technical background
- Proven Diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Ability to lead, develop and retain high-performing teams
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent technical qualification
- Experience of commercial vehicles, specialist vehicles, plant equipment or mixed fleets advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance
