Assistant Service Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Advisor ready to take the next step into an Assistant Service Manager position within a successful franchised automotive dealership.
This role is ideally suited to a high-performing automotive aftersales professional with strong main dealer experience who is looking to progress their leadership career within a fast-paced retail environment.
Working alongside the Service Manager, you will support the leadership of a busy aftersales department, ensuring exceptional customer service, strong workshop performance and efficient day-to-day operations.
The Role
You will play a key leadership role within the service department, supporting both front-of-house and workshop operations while helping to drive productivity, customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
This role requires a confident and hands-on automotive aftersales professional with a strong understanding of dealership processes, customer experience standards and service department operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the aftersales department
- Help manage service advisors, workshop teams and departmental workflow
- Drive workshop efficiency, labour sales and operational performance
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and CSI achievement
- Support workshop loading, scheduling and resource planning
- Assist with reporting, departmental analysis and operational controls
- Lead, motivate and develop team members
- Ensure high standards of customer care, compliance and operational delivery
Candidate Requirements

- Are currently working as a Service Advisor within a franchised automotive dealership
- Have strong automotive aftersales operational experience
- Possess a solid understanding of workshop and service department KPIs
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a desire to progress into management
- Can demonstrate excellent customer service and organisational skills
- Thrive within fast-paced, target-driven dealership environments
Previous supervisory or team leader experience within an aftersales department would be highly advantageous.
